Recently visited the newly refurbished Acadamy of Science in SF. It's right across from the De Young Museum, the same location it has been it since it was built. I remember going there when I was in elementary school, the bus would take us there on a field trip. The place was magic then, and now it's even bigger and better. The Steinhart Aquarium, the Planetarium and a tropical rain forest are all under that roof..in fact the roof itself is living, planted with native plants..They have added a 'cypress swamp"..complete with a 12 foot albino alligater. The restaurant serves great food and the whole place is a monument to Natural History. Check it out..after you have walked through the museum, the good news is your at Golden Gate Park. take a walk around and enjoy one of San Francisco's finest assests..
