Valentine's day used to be fun. When I was a kid, we would have these little envelopes on our desk at school and each kid would put a valentine into the other kids envelope. It was like delivering the mail. Of course I would look to see right away if the hot little girl across from me left me a valentine. Of course she didn't and the beginning of a long cycle of rejection started at an early age. The disturbing part was a lot of the guys left cards in my mail box. Gee it's great to have friends, but this is Valentines' day for crying out loud. The teacher would always leave one and my 6th grade teacher was beautiful. I took this as a good sign and maybe one day we would run off together. It's a bit odd to have 6th graders celebrating love and romance..I get Xmas cards, but Valentines Cards are for people who's hormones have started to kick in. Maybe it was just a good life lesson in the value of buying things for the girl in your life. These days the little valentine card isn't enough..these days, it's off to Shane Company for a little gemstone action. Of course my wife returns the favor, she puts a little valentine in my envelope on my desk at home..everything comes around eh?
