THE STAY-CATIONLet's fact it, a lot of us can't afford to take a trip this summer. But that doesn't mean we can't have a vacation.A "stay-cation" can give you much needed R&R -- and you won't have to leave your zip code or bust your budget. Here's how ...1. Break The Routine: It's a vacation -- you gotta treat it like it is one. That means no fix it or clean it projects around the house. This is the time to stay up late and sleep in, eat whatever you want, spend hours reading in the yard, or go out for a long lunch.2. Turn Tourist: Know how people who live in Paris have never been to the Eiffel Tower? You probably haven't visited your own local tourist traps. Grab a travel guide, hit the library or contact your local tourism bureau!3. Treat Yourself: OK, the whole idea of the stay-cation is to save money, but that doesn't mean you can't splurge a little. Take the dough you saved on airfare and treat yourself to a spa day, dinner at a fancy hot-spot, or an expensive bottle of wine. You'll still come out ahead ...Just Asking ... Did you have to scrap your vacation plans this year? What are you doing instead? Anyone actually having a stay-cation? Any tips for making the most of it?
