This Saturday marks the birth date of Duane "Skydog" Allman. He would have been 64. Founding member of the Allman Brothers and one of the most unique guitar players ever. The thing that made Duane special for me was his putting exactly the right feel into whatever piece of music he was working on. Whether it was with soul giants like Aretha and Otis, or with Guitar god Eric Clapton. He had what musicians call "the touch". We will for sure have a great song from the Brothers that will show off some of Skydogs steam. Duane shares his birthday with another guitar player, living, who has his own meat and potatoes sound. Basic 3 chord rock and when you hear him play, you just know your listening to Joe Walsh. Our groovy birthday room continues to fill up with real characters, like the one and only Gris Gris man from New Orleans, Dr. John. AndDicky Smothers, and Goldie Hawnjust to keep us smiling. It's hats and horns this Saturday for our Revolution, cake and ice cream too, just don't drink the Kool Aid! Have some suggestions for our flashback show? Call, write, text, scream of stop by and let us know what you have in mind. In the meantime, keep it real, and stay groovy, just keep feeding each other. Peace out.
