This Saturday night we are in for a special treat here in Sacramento. Maria Muldaur brings her Xmas Blues and Jazz show to the intimate 24th street theater. I have been a fan of her music for years. She always knew the right songs to cover, she has in my opinion, great taste. Actually I knew about Maria a long time ago. She was this cute little fiddle playing girl with the Jim Kweskin Jug Band out of Cambridge Mass. 35 years ago. They played the college and club circuit and Maria was just so damn cute to watch. Since then she has had a long and wandering career. So many people know her only from her hit Midnight at the Oasis, but she has been at this for 38 years and has a ton of rootys Americana music on her resume'. Her upcoming Xmas show at the 24thst. theater should be a swinging time. With some great Bay Area muscians to back her up, the joint will be jumping. We are giving away tix to the show on the Eagle. Come out this Saturday night and really feel the spirit of the holidays all the way down to your toes. Below is a little snippet of my conversation with Maria earlier today. See you this weekend?
