Weekdays 10a -2p

Birthdays this week, Classic rockers who are still with us, and some who are not

This week marks birthdays for some pretty important musicians. How bout a man named Mickie Most, ring a bell? Probabley not. He would have been 72 this week, he passed away in 2003. He was an incredible English producer from the 60s. He had hits with the Animals, the Yardbirds, produced Donovan's music including the amazing Sunshine Superman, also Jeff Beck and the Nashville Teens(tobacco road). He kept the swinging 60s ...swinging. A guy who is happily still with us turned 67 this week, Ray Davies, lead singer and songwriter for the Kinks, memeber of the rock n'roll hall of fame and hit the charts for the first time in 1964with "You Really Got Me". Other cake and ice cream candidates include Todd Rundgren, Howard Kaylan (the Turtles), Robert Hunter(Grateful Dead Lyricist), Mick Fleetwood, Jeff Beck, Chris Wood (Traffic sax and flute), and Arthur Brown (the Crazy World of) Fire!. Well that's it, Happy Birthday you guys, and thanks for giving us the best music of our generation. Check into the Revolution this weekend and hear these people and even some people who are not celebrating birthdays at all. Peace Out.
