Bruce Springsteen, welcome to Twitter. Sure, Springsteen has had a verified Twitter account for quite a while, but he hadn’t personally tweeted anything until this week.
On Tuesday (Aug. 20), The Boss sent out his first bona fide tweet—a message to fans that will be seeing him and the E Street Band on their upcoming South American tour.
“Bruce here...looking forward to seeing friends in Chile, Argentina & Brazil on tour next month,” he tweeted. “Any requests?”
The message had over 1,000 RTs and favorites within 24 hours, plus replies from fans suggesting a variety of Springsteen songs, from “Jungleland” to “Adam Raised a Cain” to “I’m on Fire.”
Springsteen and the E Street Band’s upcoming South American trek will kick off Sept. 12 in Santiago, Chile, and run through a Sept. 21 performance at Brazil’s Rock in Rio Festival.
