Keith Richards says he hopes to reconvene The Rolling Stones, but he isnât sure when that might happen. âThere is talk about [doing more songwriting],â the veteran rocker told GQ in a recent interview. âBasically I want to get the Stones back together and give it one more bash. I think they've got it in them. But it's about timing and an awful lot of very careful diplomacy.â
Richards also revealed that one of the greatest difficulties he encountered in putting together Life, his autobiography, was writing about the loss of his son, Tara, to sudden infant death syndrome. â'I really didn't want to go through and remember the death of my son,â he said. âYou spend a lot of time trying to bury that kind of [stuff], not bringing it up again. That was the hard one for me, to relieve that.â
Richards went on to say that life on the road as a Rolling Stone, even during the bandâs wild-partying heyday, wasnât all it was cracked up to be. âIt actually wasn't a very glamorous life,â he said. âIt was a lot of hard slog, a lot of hard work. We were taking care of two hours on the stage and the rest of it; I wouldn't wish it on anybody.â

With a much-rumored 50th anniversary tour for 2012 perhaps now in the works, the Daily Mailgushed over the legendary bandâs youthful appearance. The newspaper said: âThe band still showed they had star power, with a fan touching Ronnie Wood and a photographer taking his picture as he is ushered into a waiting car. Keith [Richards] joined his bandmate in the young-dressing stakes, donning one of his trademark headscarves underneath a stylish hat.â
Jagger is currently busy with his SuperHeavy alongside Joss Stone, Damian Marley, Dave Stewart and A.R. Rahman. And it was announced this week that Richardsâ autobiography Life, published last year, has sold over one million copies.

Keith Richardsâ memoir, Life, has become one of the best-selling rock autobiographies of all-time. As reported by RollingStone.com, the legendary guitaristâs tell-all book has sold more than one million copies, a total thatâs the literary equivalent of achieving platinum status in the music world.
In addition to earning Richards a massive payday â he received a $7 million-plus advance for the tome â the book earned nearly universally positive reviews. Chief among these was effusive praise lavished on Life by rocker Liz Phair, in a lead review for the New York Times.

The New York Post is reporting that Jagger has been recording with Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart, Bob Marleyâs son Damian Marley, singer Joss Stone and Oscar-winning Indian musician/producer A.R. Rahman.
An unnamed source told the Post, âThey just finished a record and their first video and are talking to major labels about a deal. The name for the band at the moment is Super Heavy.â
âEach member has a very distinct and different style, but it works,â another source said. âMick has been recording with Dave for a while, and both worked with Joss in the past.â
Jaggerâs camp is still playing the whole project close to the vest, with a rep only disclosing: âThey all thought it would be interesting and great fun to go into the studio and play some music. No video has been shot, no label in place. All a bit premature.â

âI am lucky to be alive and to have such a crazy story to tell, full of wild adventures and creative machinations,â Townshend said, in a prepared statement. âI am happy that I am able to write my book myself, in my own âvoiceâ that many readers will be hearing for the first time.â
Townshendâs book agent is Ed Victor, who also represented Keith Richardsâ 2010 memoir, Life.Rock star autobiographies have been hot of late, with memoirs by Steven Tyler and Sammy Hagar each achieving best-seller status. Harper Collins executive editor David Hirshey will work with Townshend on edits for the book. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

But, in an interview with the Daily Express, Richards says things are great between the two best-known Stones and that they are closer than ever, because they learned to become âmore tolerant of one another.â
The guitarist explained that his and Mickâs friendship reached its low point in the mid-â80s, when the Stones briefly broke up. He said that he included his thoughts on that period because he felt he had to be honest.
âMy main point was to explain what the Stones have gone through,â he said. âI donât think Mick, up until right now, knew how deep a cut that was. Not just to me but the rest of the band. It became a very difficult period, from the late â80s until 1990. I used to call it World War III.
âBeing in that pressure cooker all that time â and with two very strong egos involved â there is inevitably going to be a time when the pressure cooker pops.â
In more recent times, Richards said that the duo have formed a more understanding and tighter bond.
âBasically, we are brothers,â he said. âI can knock him, but if anyone else does Iâll slit his throat!â

For nearly five decades, they have been rockâs greatest soap opera. Jagger/Richards. The Glimmer Twins. Mick and Keef. One is a keen businessman with an equal eye on the gate receipts and the dressing room mirror, where a carefully groomed image has helped make him the greatest frontman of all time (according to a recent Gibson.com poll). The other is a torn and frayed pirate who wears the scars of his 67-year battle with authority like a badge of honor. Somehow, their irresistible push and pull has generated some of the greatest music of the rock era. And their conflicts have generally remained behind closed doors. Oh, we might have heard grumblings here and there (like in the â80s when Jagger decided to embark on a solo career). But by and large, the details of their grievances were kept to themselvesâ¦until this year, when Keith Richards aired his laundry in a bracingly forthright autobiography, Life. In that book, Richards takes swipes at his longtime partner that are both personal (some exceedingly) and professional. For his part, Jagger has retained his dignity and not addressed the barbs â until now.
In an interview published by the New York Timesâ Tmagazine this weekend, Jagger sideswiped Richardsâ memoirs, saying, âPersonally, I think itâs really quite tedious raking over the past. Mostly, people only do it for the money.â
When asked if he would ever write his own account of the bandâs long and sordid history, Jagger retorted, âYou donât want to end up like some old footballer in a pub, talking about how he made the cross in the cup final in 1964.â
Though he maintains the same carefully managed façade that has made him one of the most compelling artists of the past century, Jagger let down his guard just a bit to reveal a certain sensitivity, perhaps rubbed raw by Richardsâ words.
âPublic people put a lot of energy into what people think about them. Everyone does. I donât care what they say. Everyone cares about it. You always want to control your image. I mean, you obviously canât control it 100 percent. But if youâre a famous person, you obviously have a public personality that you try . . . that you want to project.â

2. Fry up a mixture of onions and bacon and seasoning.
3. Get the spuds on the boil with a dash of vinegar, some chopped onions and salt (seasoning to taste). Chuck in some peas with the spuds. (Throw in some chopped carrots too, if you like). Now weâre talking.
4. Now you have the choice of grilling or broiling your bangers or frying. Throw them on a low heat with the simmering bacon and onions (or in a cold pan, as the TV lady said, and add the onion and bacon in a bit) and let the f-----s rock gently, turning every few minutes.
5. Mash yer spuds and whatever.
6. Bangers are now fat free (as possible).
7. Gravy if desired.

The same applies to rumors that they are going into the studio soon to record a new album.â
Speaking at the book launch of his new memoir, Life, Richards had told BBC6Music: âAfter these many years working together, we have a lot of unfinished stuff to work on that we had to leave off the last album. And knowing Mick, as I do, heâs a very prolific writer. I have ideas and weâll put them together in December or January. Weâre looking forward to working.â

On the eve of the release of the release of Ladies & Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones on DVD and Blu-ray, Watts told Billboard the band has entertained tentative thoughts about its next tour for quite a while. âWell, itâs always been ânext yearâ â itâs been like that for two years,â Watts said. âWeâll go on the road when Keithâs bored, when his bookâs out of the way and heâs bored, and Ronnie [Woodâs] bored. At the moment, theyâre both not bored. Bored enough, I mean. So I think that will happen. How long and how we do it will be another thing. It takes a lot of thought, an awful lot, and it usually takes a lot of time.â
Watts said he hadn't read what Keith had to say about him in his upcoming tell-all autobiography. âNo. I hope heâs said nice things about everyone, but itâs his take on it,â Watts said. âItâs not meant for me, itâs meant for other people to read it. I know Keith, I love him, and heâs whatever he is to me. But I hope itâs all right for him â it sells and all that. Heâs been writing this thing since the middle of the last tour.â
As previously reported, Richardsâ book, Life, is due out on October 26.

As Gibson.com previously reported, Rolling Stones guitarist and rock legend Keith Richards has been working on an autobiography. Now that book has a name and release date. Life will be available in stores and through online retailers on October 26.
According to a press release from publisher Little, Brown & Company, the book will cover Richardsâ entire career: âThe man himself tells his story of life in the crossfire hurricane. Listening obsessively to Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records, learning guitar and forming a band with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones. The Rolling Stonesâ first fame and the notorious drug busts that led to his enduring image an outlaw folk hero. Creating immortal riffs like the ones in âJumping Jack Flashâ and âHonky Tonk Women.â Falling in love with Anita Pallenberg and the death of Brian Jones. Tax exile in France, wildfire tours of the U.S., isolation and addiction. Falling in love with Patti Hansen. Bitter estrangement from Jagger and subsequent reconciliation. Marriage, family, solo albums and Xpensive Winos, and the road that goes on forever.â
âKeefâ wrote the book with author James Fox, who had an international best-seller with White Mischief. Richards and Fox have known each other since the latter was a writer for the Sunday Times in the late â70s.
According to the press release, âWith his trademark disarming honesty, Keith Richard brings us the story of a life we have all longed to know more of, unfettered, fearless, and true.â
The week of the bookâs release, Richards is scheduled to speak and do a signing at the New York City Libraryâs main branch in Manhattan.

The man above, 61 year old Roger Stephens said to the mother allegedly, "If you don't shut the baby up, I will shut her up for you."
A few moments later, Stephens allegedly grabbed the girl and slapped her four times, then told the mother, "See, I told you I would shut her up."
Stephens was arrested and charged with cruelty with children in the first degree, which is a felony. He is being held without bond. Unbelievable.

âLetâs Spend the Night Togetherâ was a risqué song for its time, an overt invitation to carnal relations. The track was powered by guest pianist Jack Nitzsche and a kickinâ rhythm track led by Charlie Watts. But the spotlight really shines on Jagger, who is in full rooster mode, strutting and preening, letting the listener know he means it when he says, âIâll satisfy your every need/And now I know you will satisfy me.â
In the U.K., where the song was released on January 13, fans ate it up. The single went all the way to #3 before petering out. Double A-sides were always a bit hampered in the U.K., though, because both songs were taken together and not allowed to flourish on their own. That policy clearly dragged down The Beatlesâ mini-masterpiece. In the States, the double-A saw âStrawberry Fieldsâ only go to #8, but âPenny Laneâ â freed from its possibly-too-artsy-for-the-masses brother â went to #1.
The liability for âLetâs Spend the Night Togetherâ/âRuby Tuesday,â clearly, was the raw sexual content of âLetâs Spend the Night Together.â That was most evident in the U.S., where the track only climbed as high as #55. Radio stations refused to play it. When the band tried to plug the song on The Ed Sullivan Show, they were forced to censor it or else not be allowed to appear on the very big sh-eeew. (Jaggerâs subsequent eye-rolling take on âLetâs Spend Some Time Togetherâ is, by now, the thing of legend.)
But then there was the other track, an almost polar opposite of its mate. Peering out from behind the harlot of âLetâs Spendâ was the bashful, dainty âRuby Tuesday.â
Arguably the most melodic and ornate Stones song, âTuesdayâ was either written solely by Keith Richards or with a little help from Brian Jones (depending on what story you believe). In his biography, Life, Richards said that he wrote the song about his mid-â60s girlfriend, Linda Keith. She had left Richards for Jimi Hendrix and had begun using drugs heavily. The Stonesâ guitarist tried to win her back, and eventually visited her parents to tell them the trouble she was getting into. Lindaâs dad rushed off to New York to get her, and she was grounded in England â by a court order. Even though she was the inspiration for this gentle and beautiful song (âWhen you change with every new day / Still Iâm gonna miss youâ), Linda never forgave Keith.
For the recording of the song, Jones played piano and the tuneâs instantly recognizable recorder part. âRuby Tuesdayâsâ mournful double-bass was actually played by both Richards and Bill Wyman. While Wyman pressed the strings against the fingerboard, Richards bowed the instrument.
Because its flipside was a little too much for radio DJs, âRuby Tuesdayâ became the preferred song in the U.S. and it really took off. On this day in 1967, it hit #1 on the Billboard charts â the bandâs fourth chart-topper in America. It would earn a legacy as one of the best-known Stones songs and go on to be included on nearly every one of the bandâs subsequent compilations.
The Stones seem to like the song as much as the public does. In a 1995 interview with Jann Wenner inRolling Stone magazine, Jagger expressed a fondness for âRuby Tuesday.â âThatâs a wonderful song," he said. âItâs just a nice melody, really. And a lovely lyric. Neither of which I wrote, but I always enjoy singing it.â

This story is getting a lot of coverage, and rightfully so.
This guy in the picture was shopping at an Atlanta, Georgia Walmart. Nearby was a woman with her two year old child who was crying.
The man above, 61 year old Roger Stephens said to the mother allegedly, "If you don't shut the baby up, I will shut her up for you."
A few moments later, Stephens allegedly grabbed the girl and slapped her four times, then told the mother, "See, I told you I would shut her up."
Stephens was arrested and charged with cruelty with children in the first degree, which is a felony. He is being held without bond. Unbelievable.

Well, as smart as President Obama is, even he can make a dumb mistake. From where I'm sitting it was pretty innocent, and there was no ill will intended. However, I can see where some could take his special Olympics comment as it pertained to his bowling skills, to be offensive.
In fact, two hours before it even aired on last night's Tonight Show, they were already apologizing to the press on Air Force One. Now, this morning, Obama made what is being called a heartfelt apology, even inviting the less fortunate down for a game of basketball or bowling at a future date.
