In 2007, Gary Moore paid tribute to fellow guitar legend Jimi Hendrix with a concert dedicated to Hendrix tunes. The show, which took place at London’s Hippodrome, was recorded and will be released as Gary Moore: Blues for Jimi on CD, DVD and Blu-ray on September 25.
At the concert, Moore put his spin on Hendrix classics such as “Purple Haze,” “Red House” and “Foxy Lady.” For the last three songs of the show, he was joined by Hendrix bandmates Billy Cox (bass) and Mitch Mitchell (drums). Of course, Mitchell and Moore have both passed away since the concert took place.
