By now we have all heard the story of homeless man Ted Williams, the radio announcer who fell on hard times due to addiction and bad life choices. This story has gotten to me like nothing else . A man who has nothing but his voice and a sign was discovered by the internet and taken to incredible places in just a matter of hours. .I think this story moves me because there are so many emotional aspects to it. First of all, being in radio, I immediatley sympathized with him as a brother broadcaster. When he opened his mouth it blew my mind, I mean the guy looked like he had been living under a bridge for two years. He found God, and found a way to survive on the streets . I wish him the very best of luck, he has many lucrative offers from different organizations, including the Clevland Cavaliers who have offered him a permanent job as thier announcer. Here is a genuinely humble man who is trying to get his life back on track and because of nothing less than a miracle, he appears to have a second chance. He will go back to his 92 year old mother in Brooklyn, who he hasn't seen in years, and together they will rediscover each other and revel in Ted's good fortune. My only hope is that there is someone to look out for him. He is in the middle of a media storm right now, and this can be a very perverse world. Ted, keep your eye on the prize and don't be distracted by the fallout. Don't be seduced by the disposable media culture, it all means nothing. Follow your God, and thanks for showing lots of us that miracles can and do happen. This is a story of redemption.
Ted, just don't take my job:)
