Leave it to the folks at Mattel  to market âPuppy Tweetsâ for your dog. No, not for a toy dog - your living, breathing, slobbering dog! Puppy Tweets will allow your pets to automatically participate on social networking sites, for folks who care that your dog is scratching himself, eating your shoe, or digging up your petunias. The motion sensor âPuppy Tweetâ collar tag has several pre-programmed Tweets. So whether your dog is sleeping under the bed, playing in the dog park, or chasing a squirrel, Mattel has already written a Tweet for that occasion. The price tag for this gadget? 30 bucks.  Of course, taking a scene from âUpâ, a dog tweet could easily be âHungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungryâ â¦.. all day,everyday..

You donât have to depend on toxic pesticides to get a handle on your petsâ mobile flea population! Some of the best natural flea deterrents can be found in your kitchen or herb garden . . .
If your dog or cat is suffering from fleas, make a âteaâ of lemon peel and water, and let it steep overnight. Citrus naturally repels fleasâif you sponge the tea on your flea-infested pet, the fleas will die instantly.
Rub your pet all over with tansy, fennel, basil or mint, pennyroyal, or another strong smelling herb. You can also grow these herbs, as well as wormwood, rue, pyrethrum, or marigolds around kennel areas or parts of the yard where your pet likes to play or bask in the sun.
Add salt to the water that you bathe your pet in to kill fleas.
Add brewerâs yeast to your petsâ foodâanimals that eat brewerâs yeast are distasteful to fleas. This natural âadditiveâ will give them a shiny coat to boot!
To keep fleas at bay in your home, sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax on carpets, sofas, and under furniture and cushions. Be sure to first test the product on a small, unobtrusive area to make sure it is safe to use on your fabric.
If you're reading this sometime during April 1st and April 7th, be sure to wish all of your friends happy "International Pooper Scooper Week". If you are reading this after that week, boy - did YOU miss out! As silly as it sounds, dog droppings are no joke - we're talking 71 million dogs producing over 4.4 billion pounds of poop per year. That, my friends, is enough to cover 900 football fields with 12 inches of dog doo doo (someone - not me -had big fun doing that math). I'm not sure if there were any activities held in conjunction with"International Pooper Scooper Week" - scooper relays, scoop-offs, etc. - but just know that if you picked up after your pooch, you were part of an international.....movement.
