Bob Dylan's Engineer: "People Cried After Hearing New Record"

Bob Dylan has an album of Frank Sinatra covers on the way. If you want to believe one of the engineers for the album, people were crying, in a good way after hearing the results.

"He came in to the room, and he started looking around and talking," said Schmitt. "He liked the acoustics. He said, 'Boy, this one sounds really nice. Where would I be singing?' I said, 'Right where you're standing.' So, that's where the mic went, the vocal mic. And then it was his band. We had an acoustic guitar, an upright bass, light brushes on the drums, an electric guitar and a steel guitar. No headphones, everybody around him. When he couldn't hear enough of the rhythm guitar, we just moved him closer. Everything was live. … There was no tuning, and there was no fixing. Everything was what it was. That's part of the charm of the record."

You can pick up Shadows in the Night February 3rd.

Stevie Nicks Performs A Special Version of "Gypsy" on Piano

Stevie Nicks is the covergirl on Rolling Stone magazine for the first time since 1981. There is also a preview of the interview that will be in the magazine. One interesting tidbit-the tension between her and Lindsey Buckingham is there and will always be according to Nicks.

"Relations with Lindsey are exactly as they have been since we broke up," says Nicks. "He and I will always be antagonizing to each other, and we will always do things that will irritate each other, and we really know how to push each other's buttons. We know exactly what to say when we really want to throw a dagger in. And I think that that's not different now than it was when we were 20. And I don't think it will be different when we're 80."

More of the interview here.

Watch her performance of "Gypsy" below.

Ann Wilson Fronting Led Zeppelin? She Wouldn't Mind

Well, she's certainly covered enough Led Zeppelin songs to be a perfect fit. In an interview with Classic Rock Revisited the subject came up while talking about Heart's cover of "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors. Would Ann Wilson be willing to front Led Zeppelin if asked? Robert Plant isn't going to do it by the looks of things.

She says- "I don’t know. Hypothetically, if they ever needed a lead singer and Heart was not active at the moment, then, sure, I would. I would go and play with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones any day of the week.”

AC/DC Hits The Top 5 on Album Charts

AC/DC's critically acclaimed "Rock or Bust" makes a nice debut on the Billboard Album Chart. In the Top 5 with respectable sales of 172,000 copies. It's not Taylor Swift 1 million in a week sales, nor does it come close to their last record, Black Ice's first week, which was 784,000. Still solid with a new guitarist filling in.
