Fans unable to make the trek to Mountain View, California on Saturday (Oct. 26) to see this year’s Bridge School Benefit will be able to watch the first night’s festivities on the Internet. Scheduled to perform are Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, My Morning Jacket, Jack Johnson, Fun., Heart, Jenny Lewis, Elvis Costello and Diana Krall. The shows will be streamed here beginning at 5:00 PM PST.

Neil Young and his wife Pegi Young organized the first Bridge School Benefit in 1986, to raise money for a school that educates children affected by severe speech impairment and physical challenges.

Staged every year since then, with the exception of 1987, the benefit features all-acoustic sets by an array of high-profile artists. “Neil came up with the acoustic format idea,” Pegi Young told Rolling Stone. “It was genius. Nobody was doing that at the time. This is before MTV Unplugged or any of that. It keeps costs down, and it took artists outside their comfort zone. Looking back, that first concert was an exercise in simplicity compared to what it is these days.” This year’s benefit will include the first performance by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young since 2006.
