Pink Floyd Releasing Individual Volumes of 'Early Years' Box Set
By: Maura O'Malley
Back in November, Pink Floyd released The Early Years Box Set: 1965-1972, and the band just announced that individual volumes will be available for purchase on March 24.
The original 27-disc box set (pictured below) included over 130 tracks and is still available “for fans wishing to immerse themselves in the full Pink Floyd story.” The only trouble is—as you can imagine—that the cost of such a vast collection of music is pretty steep. We’re talking $550 steep.

The availability of each volume for individual purchase means fans can still get their hands on some solid tunes at a more affordable price.
So, just what can fans expect from The Early Years, 1965-1972: The Individual Volumes? According to the band’s Facebook page, “The Early Years: Individual Volumes give fans the opportunity to hear the evolution of the band and witness their part in the cultural revolution from their earliest recordings and studio sessions to the years prior to the release of The Dark Side Of The Moon.”
Each volume will be broken down by year and named after different stages in the band’s career: CAMBRIDGE ST/ATION, GERMIN/ATION, DRAMATIS/ATION, DEVI/ATION, REVERBER/ATION, and OBFUSC/ATION. For those interested, you can pre-order the volumes today.
