Walt came to the Eagle on October 22nd, 2012, after a 25 year run at KCRA-TV, where he started as the Sports Director (1988-1993) before moving to the anchor chair (1993-2012). You probably wouldn’t know it from his tenure doing the Morning, Noon or 5pm newscasts, but Walt is a Classic Rocker at heart, who loves to ride his hog (motorcycle), has a quick wit, and is way more comfortable in “street clothes” than the suit and tie look. He’s a dedicated husband (to TV Meteorologist Monica Woods), and father (2 girls, 1 boy), with roots in Sacramento that spans 4 decades.
This marks Gray’s return to 96.9 The Eagle, where he hosted the daily “Morning Sports Page” on “Jeff & Mark” (1991-1996). He’s been a listener since the station signed on in 1990, with musical tastes that run the gamut, from the Eagles, Steely Dan, and the Who, to Yes, Styx, Rush, even Elvis. His sports allegiances are New-England-based, including baseball’s Red Sox, basketball’s Celtics, and football’s Patriots. He does pull for the local teams when they’re not facing his beloved squads, unless there’s some sort of wager involved. Find him at www.Facebook.com/WaltGrayShow or www.Twitter.com/WaltGrayShow
